Changing lives, one generation at a time.

Lifting Orphans From Surviving to Thriving

One Generation Alliance 501c3 is dedicated to transforming the lives of orphaned and abandoned children in Baja, Mexico—breaking cycles of poverty and abuse to create lasting generational impact.

Our History

Hug

One Generation Alliance was founded in 2008 by Dave and Shannon Edmondson. The name One Generation Alliance was born from a prayer—asking God to raise up one generation of children who would be transformed by His love and go on to impact future generations.

As Orange County locals, Dave and Shannon spent years traveling the two hour drive into Tijuana to care for orphanage directors and care for kids in distress.

After a decade of supporting existing homes, Dave and Shannon felt called to open their own home. In 2018, One Generation Alliance partnered with Pastor Daniel and Pastora Aleyda of La Hermosa Church in Primo Tapia to open Rancho La Hermosa Orphanage—a home that has flourished over the years and provided a safe haven for many kids.

One Generation Alliance took another bold step in 2022 by purchasing a second property in Primo Tapia to build The Mentor Home. Through collaboration with other orphanages, we recognized a huge gap in resources for children aging out of orphanages. There is an urgent need for resources in Baja to help young adults transition successfully into independent life.

Currently under construction, The Mentor Home is set to open within the next year. This program will provide 24 young adults with vocational training, educational opportunities, spiritual development, character development, and all while being integrated into the community.

Further on the horizon is creating an alliance of orphan care in Baja Mexico. We aren’t sure what this will look like, but are praying about the possibility of starting a second orphanage or coming alongside smaller orphanages in need of support and guidance.

Future Homes

As we grow, our goal is to support smaller orphanages in Baja Mexico that meet a high level of excellence. We are also praying about opening another orphanage to provide the best care possible to more orphaned and abandoned children.
